Days spin by
as if they were
a ball
tethered to a
line
gaining momentum
as it reaches
the end
fully wrapped
around a pole.
Yet, it matters
not
because my life
is tethered to
that of another
beyond time.
A life that is
linear without end.
It does not spin
onward toward an
end.
That life is within me.
life that
sustains me.
life that
transcends time.
God’s kind of life.
Life eternal.
So, it matters
not
that the days go
flying by
with increased
velocity
toward a rapid
end.
I see myself not
bound to that ball
but as one
standing by
looking beyond
living above
passing through
yet, standing
still
as one who has
already arrived.
Thank you,
Jesus.
For you have
given me
this precious
God-kind of life
—the eternal
now.
