A clandestine (illicit) ruler sits on a
counterfeit throne pretending to reign over God’s people. The true kings
and priests spoken of in Revelation 1:6 are in exile, but soon to be restored in full
honor and recognition to the true throne, seated with Him in glory—ruling
and reigning with Him as sons of the Father.
We are royalty in the purest sense of the
word. Though in exile we shall never forget who we are, that royal blood
runs through our veins. We act as though that crown of benevolent kingship
is proudly shared upon all of our heads. We already hold His scepter in
our hands (that is, the authority he has measured among us). We already
decree according to the majestic will of our King what will be and what
will not be. Yes, we have that kingly and priestly authority while yet in
exile.
1 Peter 2:9, “But you
are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people
belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you
out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (Italics mine).
“And has made us kings and priests unto God and His
Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” Rev.
1:6.
4 “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great
love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in
trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have
been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made
us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ
Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the
exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in
Christ Jesus.” Eph. 2:4-7.
