Authority In The Kingdom
Because we say so!
I awakened early one morning and was thinking about an impression I had
while lying there. I saw the governmental body of my native land as though
suspended in air and it seemed diminished to me. I, on the other hand,
personally seemed to appear much larger over it. This vision points to the
authority we have in the Kingdom of God as His sons.
Once we begin to live our lives from within the Kingdom of God, we realize
that we have authority in it, but we have to grow up into that authority.
It comes with maturity. No child is given adult authority. With authority
comes responsibility. The immature person, whether in life or in the Lord,
is incapable of handling much responsibility, therefore cannot be given
authority.
However, as we grow up into authority—having proven ourselves faithful in
the little things—the powers and authorities of this world seem far less
dominant than before.
World governments appear large and unconquerable when we are in the world
and see them from a world point of view. These same systems, however,
diminish greatly in size, power, authority, and importance once we see
them from a Kingdom of God perspective. The Kingdom of God is simply
bigger than they. So it is with all things in the world.
Have these systems grown smaller? Not particularly! They were always
diminished. It has always been a matter of perception. They have not grown
smaller. We have grown taller. Our confidence in God and His crowned
authority upon His sons has increased in us as well.
Now, the more we see how much authority we have as “responsible” sons in
the Kingdom, the more our faith increases. It will no longer be a matter
of hoping, straining to believe, or faking faith. It is real knowledge. We
simply know that we have it and we act accordingly. We either have it or
we don’t. We cannot fabricate it in and of ourselves. We can never use
this authority for our personal gain or pleasure. It has to always be in
harmony with “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in
heaven.”
When we do have it and we know it, what we say has to come about just
because we say so. Demons have to flee just because we say so. Sicknesses
and diseases have to flee just because we say so. The wind has to cease
just because we say so. The mountains have to move just because we say.
Is there any doubt that Jesus walked in this kind of authority as THE SON
of God? Why would we think less of those who are His many sons being
brought to glory?
We are to grow up into Him in all things. Eph. 4:15.
